Long Monologue
This soundtrack plays in the “Dragonspine” region of the game “Genshin Impact”. This piece, composed by Yu-Peng Chen, has a simple and sing-able melody that just sticks in the head of the listener, with a beautiful yet complex harmony. The dissonance of Dominant 7th and Diminished chords beautifully resolve to Major 7th and Minor 7th respectively. This piece has reminded me that greatness lies in simplicity. The piece simply does what it was written for, to evoke emotions of guilt, grief, and hope.

With another two-minute piece, I’ve increased my musical vocabulary, and this piece will leave its trace in my writing style.
